My grandson is two but I knew things were going wrong because my daughter at this same age she was saying stuff and acting silly., like a two yr old. But her baby isn't speaking. He has been saying DaDa for over a yr though. Suggestions?

My child is three years and one month he hasn’t spoken he says mama and baba but he doesn’t really use it to call me, he just says it, but it’s really confusing because I don’t know if he has autism or not, there are these few times where it feels like he called me using it, but not always, also he doesn’t sit still when I want to hug him it’s like he wants me to be around so if I go to another room, he would follow me, but he would still stay somewhere where we have space in between, sometimes he does eye contact normally and sometimes he just refuses to look at you because He wants to play. Sometimes he laughs for no reason and jumps and runs. Sometimes he doesn’t express his pain so his brother could be literally beating him, and I wouldn’t hear him even scream. And sometimes he would scream at him and beat him to get away. And expresses pain normally saying booboo and coming to me to show me where it hurts. I noticed that when I get angry at his brother for beating him, he laughs. Seems like he likes it when his brother cries. I’m so confused in what should I do He hasn’t spoken or said any other word than mama and baba and “give me” in my language which is”iddi” Also sometimes he would cuddle with me and kiss me in a weird way. It’s not really kissing it’s like he’s trying to bite me, but with his lips instead of teeth, but I think that’s because I used to bite him like that because his cheeks are so cute and I want to bite him without hurting him, he only comes to me if he wants some thing for me he would drag me to the place and wait for me to give him the thing he doesn’t even point at things, I feel like I don’t understand him in a way where it really hurts me and makes me cry, I wish I could do something for him I took him to two doctors. One told me he might have autism. The other one told me he’s just fine and I need to wait and teach him words like it was just a speech delay. I’m so worried about him I was too terrified to admit it and label him with autism, but now I’m ready to just do anything to help him. It really breaks my heart since no one in my family was ever like this and they all already spoke under two years old..

Nobody answers back anyhow. Your child is lerning way faster so Im thing its not as seveer of a problem as mine. Is working with speech theropist for a year now and is now saying one word. He's very bright knows whats going on pulls you and takes you when he wants something. Nothing seems to be working and he's 3.

Mine is almost 2. Very limited vocabulary, and even the words he does say, it's not consistent. Mine actually did babble a lot as a baby though, so I think it's strange he isn't talking more. I have been told that he has all the precursors for speech though, but he does have mild impairment for receptive and expressive language.

I’m adjusting to 3 kids. Ages 5.5, 3.5 and 3 weeks. The transition from 1-2 was brutal because I was extremely depressed. This time I’m afraid of PPD again… I love this video because you seem relatable and real.

All kids are different ....but dont stress them ....i think they speak when they feel comfortable....to say them...

And i have a partner tht is not seeing it how i am ...my daughter was the same babbled a lot until 2 1/2 yrs

Thank you very much. I’m the grandmother and my grandson is 19 months old and weighed 3 pounds at birth, (NICU) and was delivered at eight months. So I am helping to find assistance with speech therapy and early intervention. He’s very active very tall and understands, but speech delay is one of the areas that is a concern. Hopefully he will be able to ti enroll in the great public school early intervention program in our community for his age for 2 years olds this coming fall. Yes this was out over 4 years ago. Peer play I know could be so beneficial, but covid really changed a lot along with rsv being pretty serious. So it’s been hard. For myself I’m not very worried, but my baby is everything. My kiddos first sick was covid and he’s 19 months.

Howdy! My 2-year-old daughter watches cartoons on TV but also plays, she has interactive toys and we play with her. We don't put it on the phone almost at all, and in the car it has a tablet with a holder in the headrest that we only use in emergencies (rarely). She recognizes a lot of things, responds to names and is very active, but not talking yet. She babbles on her "tongue", takes us by the hand if she needs something, and rarely utters words. Should we be worried?
